what we do
smallbites teaches parents, and parents-to-be, how to make healthy, safe and sustainable food choices in a way that saves them time. We teach parents how to give their children the tools they need to develop a healthy relationship with food. And we inspire parents to help their children become great, adventurous eaters.
 

Pumpkin & Cream Cheese Snack
(recipe makes one toddler-sized serving)

  • 5 Tbsp. of 100% pure canned pumpkin
  • 2 Tbsp. cream cheese
  1. Add cream cheese to pumpkin in a microwave-safe bowl
  2. Heat mixture in the microwave for 30-45 seconds
  3. Stir well and serve on its own or mix into oatmeal

Stewed Apples

  • 1 apple, peeled, cored and sliced into 8 pieces
  • 1 Tbsp. butter
  • Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  1. Cook apples in water, butter and cinnamon until soft
  2. Serve on their own or in hot cereal


 

Yogurt Smoothie(s)
(any combination of fruits works well in a smoothie)

  • 1 cup whole milk, plain yogurt
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1 handful of blueberries
  • 3 ice cubes
  1. Blend in blender until smooth
  2. Serve in a straw cup

egg Cups

  • 1 10 oz. package of frozen, chopped spinach
  • 4 eggs, scrambled
  • 3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  1. Microwave the spinach on high for 2 1/2 minutes and drain the excess liquid
  2. Line a 12-cup muffin pan with baking cups
  3. Combine the eggs, cheese and spinach in a bowl
  4. Mix well
  5. Divide evenly among the muffin cups
  6. Bake at 350° for 20 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean
